I went to the local Honda dealer to get some price quotes and the sticker price for the LX auto was $21,160.

How much can I negotiate below the sticker price?

Any tips from personal experiance?

Answer:
with the afforementioned price research, go to the Lot prepared to use the word, "today". "Scott, i'll give you 19650 for the silver LX right now today." ….but only say this if you are prepared to buy TODAY.

Scott will take longer than 45 seconds to come back to his desk with a counter-offer…….but didn't i just see the accord lease deal for 269 a month. on TV? If the accords are flying out of there, scott and the boys will be holding on to more gross.

If you really like/need it, paying a little more for the accord ain'yt that bad.

get er done

Answer:
Honda is tough to negotiate with on new vehicles. We have a saying in the business and that is the person with the most information wins. Search around online for other LX's in your area. The good thing about new vehicles is if a dealer doesn't have the one you want they can order one in. Do you research and don't be afraid to walk away. You may also want to see if they will throw in some dealer equipped accessories for free if they won't move as much on price as you would like.

Answer:
21 k im guessing it was a civic.

Civics are really hot, but you have to learn how to talk it out.

Try being hesitant, and not telling them your budget

Negotiate like your paying full cash.

Also, suggest that you are willing to move on to other dealers, or even other cars if the prince does not fit you.

Answer:
Go to Edmunds.com and look for the True Market Value (TMV) price for your car. This is the price you should expect to pay. If you are a good negotiator, you might be able to do better.
