I listed my car at www.autotrader.com

This person called me and told she wanted to look at it. So I told her I could go to her home to show the car to her. I never told her about anything about any warranty but I din't tell her anything about selling the car to her "as is." So I'm confused. She has not told me to pay her anything but I'm afraid to be in any kind of trouble. What do I do?

OH, BY THE WAY, I ASKED THIS QUESTION ABOUT 5 MINUTES AGO.

Answer:
There is a latin phrase by the name of "caveat emptor" which means let the buyer beware. This is a generally held principle in business which states that unless a warranty or guarantee is implied by the seller, the buyer has no legal recourse in the event they become dissatisfied with their purchase, regardless of what the problem is. You've done nothing wrong legally however if you knew the engine was about to go and you still sold it to the person with that knowledge but without disclosing that information to the buyer, that would be unethical but not illegal. This is where "caveat emptor" applies. Although someone could attempt to sue you, they would more than likely be unsuccessful, if there was no warranty or guarantee implied with the purchase.

I hope this helps to alleviate your concerns.

Answer:
If you didnt sign something saying if the engine blows up in 3 weeks that you would fix it you are not responsible for it. Dont worry about it. Now if you fed her a line of bull and told her the was great and you knew there was somthing wrong you should man up and give her money back.
