Have a black 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, about 80k miles. I'm looking to sell the automobile. The white primer is showing through all over the top of the car from the hood to the spoiler (I heard this is a common problem with the early 2000 Mitsubishis). It looks pretty bad. Two questions:
1) Please advise if you think it would be worth it to repaint it for resale value.
2) I live north of Atlanta…anyone know how much it would cost to repaint

I would not paint it, but it depends on who the buyer is.
A good paint job is going to cost you at least $3,000. If you Maaco it for $249, remember you get what you pay for.
If you are trading it in, forget about painting it. The dealer will be able to tell if it is being painted and you won't get your money that you paid for the paint job back, so save your money on the paint job.
The only time it might be worth it is if you’ve it as part of the negotiation that you’ll throw in a cheap paint job in order to sell the vehicle. You could get a pretty bad one for $249, but make sure you keep it the same color.

Probably not worth painting. With prep and paint, you can be looking at $500-2000 depending on the quality of the shop. If you value the car via Edmunds.com, you will probably only see $500 difference in the value from good to fair condition. Most people needing a reliable car would gladly take the $500 discount than the new paint figuring ,if they want, they have the ability to save for it themselves and get it painted.

I wouldn’t repaint the vehicle. I would price it according to the condition of the automobile. You'll never recover your money from a good paint job and a cheap paint job is a waste of money.
I would also investigate having the factory repaint your vehicle. This is a serious problem with Mitsu automobiles like you said and many have been repainted for free.
