havent received the v5 log book yet what should i do?

Answer:
It can take up to 8 weeks till it works it`s way through the DVLa`s system and finally gets to you.

Answer:
Presumably you’ve section 10 still - the bit that you and the previous owner signed? Keep a photocopy of it and present to your main DVLA office with the original if you haven't received it within 4 weeks. It could be that the previous owner has been carrying it about in their handbag or car meaning to post it (That's my usual trick!!!) or that they just haven't bothered. The DVLA will usually issue you with your V5 a few weeks after this.

It happened my husband with his most recent vehicle and it was just that the guy forgot to post the old V5 in. Alternatively you could try to get clocked on camera and see how quickly he gets it in when the fine arrives with him (no, on second thoughts, that's maybe not one of my superior ideas after all).
