i'm looking to sell my vehicle and I would like to provide a report of my vehicle. Is there anywhere I have the ability to get one for free?
Answer:
No, I don’t know of a “Free” service as reliable as Carfax, but Autocheck is less pricey than Carfax and just as reliable

rnn
rnnPersonally I like the format of the Autocheck report superior than the Carfax report anyway.

rnnProviding a “report” to potential buyers will also provide YOU with some protection if something happens to the vehicle “down the road” & the buyer tries to accuse YOU of being deceptive.
rnn
rnnI also believe that, When SELLING a automobile, the buyer is more likely to pay more, and/or trust the seller that has been totally “upfront & honest” with them from the beginning. The small investment on your part will be recouped in the price that you get for the sale.
rnn
rnnAnother thing that you can provide (free) is a printed report of all service/maintenance that YOU have done to the car.
rnnIf you regularly use a particular dealer or service center, they will probably do a print-out of your automobiles history for YOU at your request. They should NOT give out that info to anybody BUT you (as a matter of protecting YOUR privacy, it's the law).
rnn
rnnA new car dealer can also run your VIN for you to see if there are any open recalls on the vehicle too.
rnnThis is probably a good idea for you anyway because if there was an open recall that showed up, the dealer can do the recall work for you BEFORE you sell it (free to you) & provide the buyer with a little more “piece of mind”.
rnn(See your LOCAL New car dealer for this)
rnn
rnnIt may also help you to sell the vehicle if you go to the Kelly Blue Book website & print out the average retail selling price of your vehicle & price it a tiny below average. This way the potential buyers can see that you’re offering a reasonable 'deal' on the sale of your automobile.

rnn
rnnPlease have a “bill of Sale” on hand & make sure that you and the buyer know that you are selling the vehicle “As Is”.
rnnThat means that you’re not providing additional warranty/guarantee or additional promised equipment/services. This is needed to protect YOU from any liability “down the road”
rnn
rnnHere is a site that offers forms like that:

rnn
rnnI hope this helps.
