I don't know about the jeep but had a hhr and completely hated it. It's a 4 cyclinder and sure drives like one. Plus we get snow around here, and it does HORRIBLE in the snow and pretty bad in the rain (slides all over). My main pet peeve was the front window was to small to see out of completely. What I mean by that is when you pull up to a stop light and are sitting in a normal position, you can't actually see the stop light itself. You have to lean forward and look up to see if it's green yet (and I'm a short person). It has tons of blind spots and it is just an all around crappy automobile. I had a hyundai too, which wasn't my favorite automobile, but it was a lot better than the hhr (I like the bigger SUVs). Wish I knew about the patriot, but I don't. I had a jeep Liberty which I liked quite a bit (WAY better than the HHR) but I'm not sure how comparable it is with the patriot. Well, good luck!
Answer:
For what purpose?
The HHR will potentially get superior fuel economy when correctly optioned.
We drove the Dodge Caliber, which is the Patriot's cousin last year, definitely wouldn’t purchase one, although we used own a Neon we were very happy with, and currently own a Jeep Liberty CRD.
I would look at both very carefully, and all else being equal, go with the Chevy.
Answer:
Well, according to wikipedia, the Patriot is less pricey. I also like the appearance of the Patriot more. The HHR is great if you want more of the old time wagoneer look.
