I have a 91 Acura Integra that's manual and my steering wheel is loose. If i hit a bump and my hand jerks the steering wheel a tiny the automobile veers a lot. Why is my steering like that and what could it be?
Also, my automobile makes a weird nose like its the belts. It goes away sometimes, not all the time. When I'm at a stop, there's no sound. When I'm going, it gets louder as speed increases and then sometimes it stops.
Then when I first take off, it makes funny sound that I call “animal sound.” Like a high pitch sound like somethings rattling and its not my exhaust. My auto 91 acura integra makes the same noise, but more; when I'm at a stop or when I'm going. It can go on more than once with the auto, but once when I take off with the manual.
These are my problems. Help me solve them. Thank you!!
Answer:
It's an 18 year old car. Your rack is worn and has to be replaced. The cost will be more then the vehicle is worth.
Answer:
Could be a lot of things. Try adjusting the sector shaft in the steering gearbox. there should be a screw with a nut around it on top of the box. You loosen the nut a few turns and then tighten the screw while someone wiggles the steering wheel back and forth GENTLY until the slop goes away then tighten the nut again. Otherwise it might be in the linkage or in the front end in general.
Answer:
in the middle of the steering wheel there is one massive nut or bolt whatever you want to call it,and its loose.so go to a mechanic and fix it or do it yourself.
