Corvette needs working on how much money will i be spending?

I have a corvette that was passed down to me. A 1971 Corvette Stingray 454 large block it has been sittin for about 17 years but it still has every thing with it it only has 11000 miles but i know it needs a new interior. It just had the engine rebuilt before it started sitting and rusting. How much money you think i will be spending on it.

I concur w/ a previous writer. Owning two Corvette's and knowing quite a bit about their potential worth, take it to a Corvette specialist and have them evaluate just what you’ve. Done correctly …. you could be sitting on quite a bit of net value. Do you know which 454 it has LS5 or LS6 ?? The 5 produced 365hp and several thousand were made, the 6 however produced 425hp and only about 200 were made. Numbers matching in either case would be a plus, but a numbers matching LS6 would a BIG BIG plus. By the way, if you do take it somewhere, take someone with you who knows Vettes if you can, and take it somewhere who knows Vettes as well. It'll be worth it in the end, believe me. Ideal of luck. If you want to “restore” it, it will cost a lot. If you want to do the work yourself, and have it just as a driver, you can spend a little at a time and do it at your own pace, and replace things as you go along. There are a lot of places to get parts and there are a lot of forums to discuss your repairs/modifications.

Don't listen to these people find a Corvette specialty shop in your area (look in the yellow pages) they’re all over take the automobile to them and let them evaluate what you’ve. Remember sentimental value has cost people a lot of hard cash over the years.

With a full restoration interior,body and paint about $15,000 to $20,000.00 will make it look like a show piece.My brother has one and that is what it cost him,and it is NOT for sale either.
