S10 diesel engine swap?

Author: admin

1.Has anyone swapped a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel into an S10?

2. What kind of milage(miles per gallon) do you get?

Answer:
Your first concern should be the front suspension. The 6.2/6.5 weighs more than a SB gasser.

Depending on gearing, you should get close to 30, or even more if your nice to it. They aren't torque monsters, you probably already know that. Adding a tubro will help, if your swapping in a NA model.

Answer:
im sure it is. people fit large blocks into s10s so fitting it shouldnt be the issue. also the drivetrain might even hold up. i got a v8 s10 myself and on a forum i go to theres been a few people who run 300 horsepower on the stock drivetrain, sure some break them but most hold up. i have just a basic stock 350 and i never broke the rear end yet and i beat on it pretty good

Answer:
with all that torque with an engine that size, your probably going to end up putting your savings back into parts for the drivetrain and in brakes.

Answer:
Dude, how is a behemoth of an engine like that going to fit in a S-10?

Answer:
Why bother?Diesel fuel's like $5.00 a gallon.
