one of the two caliper bolts (the bigger ones) broke in half when i was changing brake pads, am i out of luck? do i need a new caliper or can it be drilled out? the other of the two is also seized up in there and wont budge no matter what i do.
Answer:
Have it towed to a qualified repair shop. Unless you have experiance dealing with drilling and extracting broken and or crossed threaded and broken bolt. Your best bet is to have a pro do it. Or you can buy a new mounting knuckle/ hub when the extracting goes bad.
Answer:
Gotta torch? Try a tiny heat. Once you get them out put a tiny grease or anti seize on the threads. If there broke off even with the threaded hole you will need a ease out, a drill with the right size bit and a torch. On the other bolts use penetrating oil and allow them to sit a while. You may still need some heat to help with the process.
