My drivers door window has dropped and I am unable to close the window how do I get the door panel off so I have the ability to get the window back on its rails
Answer:
firstly the window isn’t off its rails. The cable for the winder mechanism has broken, and the window has slid down but will still be within its guide rails.
Secondly you do not mention what age your automobile is. There are slight differences between mk1 and mk2 door panels, but the differences are small so follow the guide below, and if the screws are not exactly where i state just look in that area.
pop the cover off the interior handle and remove the 30torx screw behind it.
At the bottom of the interior grab handle there’s a hole, remove the 30 torx screw from that.
pop the speaker grille off and remove the 4 20torx screws that hold the speaker in place.
With the speaker removed you’ll find 2 more 20torx screws holding that caorner of the door card, remove them too.
Pull off the triangular cover on the inside of the door mirror.
Starting with the speaker corner, pull the door card outwards to release the clips that hold it in place. Once it is loose on the bottom and both sides, pull the door card upwards to remove it.
