I’ve a 2007 Dodge Charger and I have a problem. My parents are mean and only let me use their debit card once every 3 weeks to fill my tank and I have superior things to purchase with my own money with so I really dont want to waste my own money on gas. My fuel light thing just went on and I don't know how much gas this means I’ve left… It is at the very top of the red line, but I dont know when the gas is all gone. Will I be able to drive about 5 miles to practice tomorrow? And please only answer if you OWN a Dodge Charger and know what your talking about. And leave a source or something so I know your not BS.
Thanks sexys ;]
Answer:
Yeah you should have enough gas. Your car comes with a 19 gallon fuel tank which includes the spare gallon. Your fuel light probably came on when you had only 17.5 left. And your automobile if it's a V6, gets around 20mpg so if you aren't in stop and go traffic for those 5 miles then you will be fine. My estimate is that you probably have 35 more miles before your vehicle shuts off. Though, it is not good to run your vehicle so low on gas because it is hard on the fuel pump. So I would advise not to do this all the time.
Answer:
Did the gas light JUST come on? As in within the past mile? If so, then yes, you’ll be able to go 5 miles. In ANY automobile, the gas light comes on well before the tank is 100% empty. But if you’re really that worried about it, then just throw like $1-2 in it before you go. That’ll take you about an extra 10-15 miles.
