i want to disable the traction control for my 96 fleetwood cadillac brougham not the traction control in the glove box the built in traction control that pops up when the back wheels spin i want to disable it

Answer:
First, the light in the dash and the by-pass switch in the glove box are tied to the same system. It is not two separate systems. Second, I don't think you can totally disable it unless you pull the fuse then you’ll set off other warning lights because it ties into several of the car's computers. It's a safety system, like anti-lock brakes.

Drag racers have known for decades that wheel spin is a waste of time and energy and you don't win if the wheels just spin and go nowhere. The TCS will get you off the line quicker and save the rest of the drive train from destruction. Of course, if you’ve lots of money to spend on parts then it doesn't matter.

LT1 Gen II is a good engine

Answer:
I wanted to do the same thing to mine. I guess GM thought that crack dealers and old people wouldnt want to spin their tires, but they forgot about us LT1 enthusiasts. The way i did it was to take it to the dealership and have them override the warnings after i pulled the wiring out for the traction control.
