even with front and rear caliper brakes and ABS, brakes still do not feel sharp enough. any recommendations or is something wrong with my factory brakes? I would like to alter brakes if they’re as good as they get. Any recommendations?
Answer:
I have an 08 LX coupe, its pretty much the same situation. Just get some better brake pads when the OEM ones have to be changed. From what i've heard from other Civic owners, its the pads that are kinda weak from the factory. Don't change the rotors, they are fine, and crossed drilled rotors are weaker then OEM rotors, they tend to crack under extended use and are more likely to warp. Try getting some new brake pads, then if that doesn't help, maybe look into other things. Stainless steel brakeline kits are a good idea though, they’re about $120 for the part.
Answer:
bleeding them will definately help if they’ve a slight spongey feel or pedal goes really close to the floor. A few upgrades are, cross drilled rotors on all 4, stainless steel brake lines in the front, bigger piston calipers in the front…
generally stainless brake lines and cross drilled rotors make the ideal difference for the price.
