Hello All,
Some one hit my driver side mirror while the car is packed and now the housing is cracked and I have to replace that. (I miss old model mirror folding function by the way).
Dealership ask for almost 400$ for mirror cover, painting and labor.
1. Do I have to replace the total mirror, of is it possible to replace only the housing.
2. If so, do you know any place on the net, I can get black driver side mirror housing.
3. I have not fix a mirror by myself, but I’m quite alright with fixing stuff. Is it difficult to replace mirror (open up the door interior, etc..)
your help highly appreciated..
Sam

I have a 2006 Sonata and I have had my eye on this foldaway mirror conversion kit with signal repeaters. It is a bit pricey but I think its worth it. The lack of foldaway mirrors seems kind of dim-witted given the width of the car. Some owners have reported that costs run as high as $600.00 to replace these mirrors.
With the conversion kit I have mentioned, you won't have to worry about this sort of thing happening again and you will have the turn signal repeaters as well which would enhance the look of the car.
Answer:
replacing it isnt hard at all. There should be a black plastic cover on the inside that pulls off or screws off and then theres just a few screws holding it in place.
Check ebay. 08 may be to new for a lot of us used guys just yet. Selling things like that is our business, we just dont have anything that new yet. You should be able to find one used, complete with housing and mirror painted already. If you need help finding one just contact me, I can point you in the right dirrection.
Hope that helps
