Hi there,
The emissions light on my hyundai has just started flashing and there is a big loss of power - any ideas please?
Answer:
Could be a little of everything. The catalytic converter could be plugged up which would be the reason there is a loss of power or the ignition module could be shot. If you're under 100,000 miles or 7 years from the date of purchase, your warranty will cover it. As far as driving it, i wouldn't. People tend to bash Hyundais, saying that american made is much better, but they're bashing is useless since Hyundai is american made.
Answer:
Blinking light generally means a realtime misfire. You could be doing damage by driving. Could be spark plugs or injector problem. Shoud be a code to read first.
Answer:
What you wanna do is get the code read somewhere. When it's blinking that means the computer has deteced a problem and it needs to be dealt with. That computer stores a code/s inside it's memory where your mechanic can read it and resolve your problem. Have a diagnostic check and go from there. No since fixing what isn't broken.
