i got 19/20 mpg and the acceleration seems to be dropping swiftly in all gear changes. any answers will be very much appreciated.

I had the same problem. Took it to the dealer and they said the transmission sensor was off. They fixed it for less than $100. Cheap, considering I live in San Diego. Now it runs great.
