I purchased the car in July 2009 from a mechanic. It had probably about 110,000 miles on it.
In October 2009, the “Coolant Low” light came on. I took it to the mechanic (same guy from whom I bought it). He did something to it; the light went off; I paid him. That was like $75.00
In November 2009, the “Coolant Low” light and the “Check Engine” light came on (not necessarily at the same time). The car also wouldn't begin for me after these lights came on.I took it to him again; he did something to it; he said that I may not have had it in “Park” when it had stalled on me; the lights went off; I paid him. That was like $80.00
In December 2009, the “Coolant Low” light ahd the “Check Engine” light came on (not necessarily at the same time). Shortly, after the “Coolant Low” light came on, the automobile wouldn't start. Some kind of way, I got it to begin, and then I went home and put some coolant in the car (filled it to where it states full) . On January 3, 2010, I took the automobile to the mechanic (same guy) and he did an oil change, and other stuff and I paid him $140.00.
On January 10, 2010, the “Check Engine” light came on; on January 20, 2010, the “Coolant Low” light came on. I put coolant in on January 20, 2010 (filled it to where it states “full”). But, then on January 22, 2010, the “Coolant Low” light came on again. I put more (filled it to where it states “full”). On January 23, 2010, the “Check Gages” light came on.

Please pay no attention to Kelly_f… He/She/It is a fvcking moron.
You have a problem with your cooling system. It's either a leak, which means you should see coolant somewhere around the engine and on the ground where you park, or it could possibly be a Cylinder Head Gasket leaking. Either way it sounds like you need a new mechanic. Any qualified technician should be able to diagnose that correctly the first time.
Ideal of Luck!

Answer:
Your mechanic is making a lot of money off you so there's no incentive to actually fix the problem. Take it to a different mechanic. From the amount of coolant you're adding, sounds like the radiator cap isn't holding pressure and it's boiling away, or you have a leak in your cooling system.
Answer:
You have a leak in the water system, the water system is a sealed system so water shouldn't be escaping that fast. Get a new mechanic he should of knowen that. Where is the water going? First thing I would check is the oil pull the dipstick out and see what the oil looks like if it is a milky color then its probably the head gasket.
Next look around and see if you can see water leaking anywhere look around the hoses, radiator, engine block anti-freeze will leave a residue after it dries. If you don't see anything then it could still be a head gasket and the water is going into an exhaust port and evaporating sometimes you can smell the exhaust and it will smell like antifreeze
BE CAREFUL not to get the engine to hot you can cause more damage than what you’ve.
Also keep in mind that it's very rare that someone would get rid of a car that runs good especially a mechanic
