I currently own a Acura TL; my friend's uncle just got a Lexus SC430 in his lot. I am really contemplating getting it.
What do you think of the automobile? The only real concern I’ve is that I am told it's an older person's car; and might not look appropriate for me as I am 26…has anyone else heard this?
Answer:
The Lexus SC430 isn’t really a automobile for anyone under the age of 35 or with children and frequent passengers. The drive is too cushy, and it nearly “floats” as you drive. It has power, but thats not really seen as it has several restriction (safety features) that prevent you from enjoying its power (and they’re not easily disabled). There’s literally no rear seat leg room (as its called a 2 2 seater). This means that only 2 people can fit in this automobile and the rear seats act as decoration only. LOL
This car realistically was made to appease the same people that would purchase a Ford Thunderbird. From a tuners prespective (I am a form street tuner) The SC430, no matter how much tuning you perform, won’t satisfy the aggressive driver. It really has an “uptight” feel that is hard to shake. Even with aggressive aftermarket modifications.
To be honest, this automobile is more of a “chic car” or a automobile for the person who wants a $50k -$60k drop top convertible that’s not a sports automobile, not a entry convertible (such as the Solara or Sebring), and not a BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaquar, Cadillac, or Ford (why would anyone spend over $30k on a Thunderbird is beyond me). In the end, don't buy this vehicle if you have desires to tune or upgrade anything on the vehicle. (Even the sound system is flawless). In a nut shell…. this care is BORING!
Good luck on your decision. But if I were you, instead of looking to purchase the SC430, I would put that money on a Nissan 350 or a BMW 330 Ci (you will get your money's worth, and have some fun in the process.)

OMG my mom has one, it is awesome..it's a V8- has so much torque moving in and out of lanes, and the really cool thing about is, you can't feel how bumpy the road is the way the IS rides..it rides like the GS- (though GS has more of a luxurious larger interior, the SC is definitely a luxurious ride for such a tiny body) I've been in all the Lexus models and have friends and family that own them (mom used to have the ES too) well, it's to be expected, it's comparing an IS ($30,000 car) to a $65,000 SC430..it's so awesome..and duhh it's a sportscar so of course there's no room in the back- it's not meant for kids or groceries so what do people expect. It's one of the coolest hard tops out there and wow, it is so beautiful..I love it when she lets me drive it. (I have the RX btw.) Nothing about it is an old person's car- like what?
Well, maybe your friends think that $65,000 is money that only old people have- then that makes sense, lol.
As far as the TL, get rid of that and get into the Lexus club- pride of ownership, baby!!!!

I am 23 and I just bought one. Its great! I will agree with everyone when they say its a chicks vehicle! It is a sports automobile, but it feels more like a luxury car. If you haul a lot of people around, dont get it. It only fits 2 people. The back seat though, is perfect for groceries and luggage and such. The speakers sond great, the navigation system is incredible, and the ride is pretty smooth for being a sport coupe. Just make sure it doesnt have the run flats on it…. they suck. Oh, and some new chrome wheels on it will make the vehicle look 50 times superior! Also, I just traded in my camry for this car, and my insurance is only 30 dollars more a month now. Cant beat that!

The SC430 is a great looking automobile but you are going to lose a lot of space and will be moving up to a V8 motor that requires high octane gas. The SC isn’t really an older persons automobile but is more a female oriented vehicle.
