I have a 95 Lexus Sc400, and I'm looking for anyway I can to increase its horsepower.

Answer:
Hello to a fellow SC400 owner!

The thing with the SC400 is that there is very tiny aftermarket support for it. The first aftermarket exhaust just came out about a month or so ago from Tanabe! And the automobile has been discontinued since 2000!!

You can do the BFI Mod: http://www.planetsoarer.com/BFI3/bfi3.ht… It has been proven to be superior than any aftermarket setup. The SC400 community favors the BFI, plus, its cheap.

You can upgrade the torque converter to either the Lextreme unit, which is a rebuilt stock converter with a higher stall, or the Precision Industries Dragon torque converter, which is more pricey but probably better. This doesn't exactly increase horsepower, but it puts what horsepower you have down to the ground superior and therefore makes the vehicle faster.

There are NO bolt-on supercharger or turbo kits for our engine… so that guy who stated something about a TRD kit is mistaken. Some people have done custom jobs, but those can't be too cheap and I haven't looked into them.

If you haven't done a full tuneup yet, you might want to look into that. You can replace the spark plugs and wires, and the distributor caps and rotors. If those are going bad, you'll lose some power.

You can find much more information on anything related to the SC at clublexus.com Its a great forum and everything I know about the SC was learned from reading what other people said there.

Answer:
there are a handful of mods you can do to add power.

SRT Hi-Flow Intake with ECU or K&N Intake Apexi SAFC

Hi-Flow Cats HKS (or other company) exhaust

custom H-Pipe

or

TRD Supercharger

or

Nitrious Oxide

turbo would be difficult and expensive, do to the lack of turbo kits for this automobile. it can definitely be done, but not inexpensively.
