2008 Lexus ES350…. I can't seem to turn the navigation into a night mode. This navigation screen can be freakishly bright at night….really annoying and distracting.
Thanks.
Answer:
First, check to see if your instrument cluster light switch behind the left side of your steering wheel is all the way on maximum. If so, adjust it downward so that it is not in the maximum detent position but close to it. Secondly, press the “DISP” button on the navigation unit and make sure “Day Mode” is not highlighted. This should resolve your concern.
EDIT
The day I answered your question, I was driving a ES350 with Navigation. The day mode button on the screen is at the top, once you’ve pressed the physical DISP button on the side of the screen. Toyota and Lexus navigations systems are similar. But you also have to make sure that your instrument cluster lighting isn't at it's maximum. If you’ve done both of these and your screen is not dimming when it is dark, then you should take it to the dealer to have them look at it.
Answer:
on the left hand side if the steering column is a dial spins north to south. It dims the dashboards lights. if it is all the way up to the very top, the dashlights are brightest and the Map is in daymode, even at night. if you move the dial down silghtly, when your lights are on, the map will go to night mode(black background, white lettering).
If you need help, let me know
Answer:
..there's a sensor on your dash that automatically senses when it will turn into night mode, so there's nothing you can do..i have an RX350, and the nightmode brightness is perfect-
