Obviously it's made by Toyota

AND obviously they have not driven any type of LEXUS at all-

or they would stop making these idiotic comparisons and claims. It's mind boggling to me, they are in a absolutely different class thus the difference in pricing and performance.

Answer:
Here we go! The assumption of masses. Toyota does not make Lexus(s). The tahara plant is a Lexus only plant. Get that, LEXUS only. What Lexus does use is toyota designed engines, but built to tighter tolerances and specifications. Therefore, Lexus will use oils, lubricants and coolants specified and manufactured by toyota. These are totally different vehicles. Any one says otherwise doesn't know any better. (come on lost vegas, you should know better)

Answer:
Toyota and Lexus are both divisions of Toyota Motor Corp. and share many components (i.e. engine parts, suspension, buttons, etc.) but the two are not “just like” by any means. The Lexus interior is much tighter and superior fit-n-finish than Toyota (which is already very good, but slipping recently).

Most Lexus have comparable Toyota models (RX350 to Highlander, ES350 to Camry, GX470 to 4Runner, etc.) but the extra cost is for higher end leather, superior stereo systems, and more luxurious anemities.

Hey, if you don't think any of these anemities are worth $5000-$15000 more than comparable Toyota, then buy the Toyota.

Answer:
Lexus (Japanese: レクサス,, Rekusasu?) is the luxury automobile division of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. First introduced in the United Says, where Lexus has become the highest-selling make of luxury vehicles, this day Lexus brand name vehicles are available throughout the world. In 2005, the Lexus marque launched in Japan, marking the continued global expansion of the luxury division.

The Lexus IS is a series of entry-level luxury cars/compact executive automobiles produced by the Lexus marque of Toyota Motor Corporation. The IS was introduced as an entry-level sport model slotted below the ES in the Lexus lineup. The IS was originally sold as the Toyota Altezza in Japan until the introduction of the second generation Lexus IS design.

Answer:
A Lexus IS a Toyota. I'm a supervisor in a major west coast OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) parts warehouse. The difference's are interiors, sound systems, suspensions, grill. Here's a American example. I own my moms 1974 Pontiac Ventura. To save money and make more car models GM not only made this vehicle but the Chevy Nova, Buick Apollo and the Oldsmobile Omega. Differant trim levels and interiors. And the Nova's front clip was a tiny differant. The way we tell Honda parts from Acura parts is when a customer orders Acura there’s a “A” in front of the part number. Otherwise it goes on the corresponding Honda. Sorry to pop your bubble.

Answer:
Probably the same reason people think a Lincoln is just a Ford with a fancy name, or that Oldsmobile is just a Chevy with a fancy name, etc.

The differences are just paint, logos, and marketing. Underneath, it's all the same.

This fact REALLY bothers the people who bought the snob-appeal of the higher priced version, which is why they refuse to face the reality of it.

Answer:
That's funny, I never thought an RX drove like a Rav4.

Maybe people that say that are just jealous they can't afford the luxury version of the Toyotas. So they tend to state it's the same thing. Of course it's not the same thing. They can't afford a luxury car period. If it truly was the same thing, why don't people with money drive Hondas and Nissans?

It's like saying the Honda S200 drives and is similar to the Lexus SC430- No way in hell.

Answer:
I'm not a ninnie, but Toyota does make Lexus.

No, the automobiles are not the same but very similar as far as under the hood. But inside is a different story.

Obviously, Lexus is the luxury version of a Toyota.

Answer:
They’re the same exact company just that Lexus is a lot more luxurious. Take the 4runner for example, the 4runner is from Toyota, yet the exact vechile is seen as the LX470 to Lexus. Same frame same engine.

Answer:
I think Renault is the major share holder of Toyota.

But the parts are very interchangeable, the es300 was nothing more that a Toyota Camry. they even looked alike. this is why they are confused

Answer:
A Lexus IS a Toyota. It's just trimmed out a lot better. That's not an insult. It's a compliment to Toyota. You must own a Lexus I'm guessing.

Answer:
This isn't really a question…

But Toyota and Lexus are engineered by the same company and share many characteristics and parts. That's what makes them comparable.
