After replacing a blown catridge fuse the “VSCoff” and the” ABS” warning lights continue to stay on the dashboard. The Toyota home that did the repair stated they did not know but that I need a new battery. could this be the problem.

Also, speaking of battery what kind of battery is best for this car given that i live in the south region or texas to be specific. I hear people speaking about gel vs. flooded battery and its confusineg please help. Thank you in advance.

Answer:
The dealer specifically told you that the issue was a blown fuse? Usually when something like that comes on, it's not just a easy fuse issue, but something wrong with the system during the startup diagnostic test. Check the fuse again and see if they are blown, otherwise go back to dealer and have them test it again and if they can't find out, find another dealer that can.
