Answer:
I’ve a 2002 lincoln ls v8. its a good automobile and cruises very well on long distance drives… i spend about $66 to fill it up. it requires 91 octane gas and where i live thats about $4.30 a gallon. And when it comes to driving the vehicle your gas milage can vary. if you run and gun and have a bit of a lead foot then your gas milage will suffer in this automobile and plus its pretty fast for its size i guess but if you drive conservative then you can get around 24mpg.
I remember running around town driving like i didnt care and i got around 16 mpg but once i calmed down i was getting around 23 mpg.
Its a good but can be expensive to keep up especially when your ignition coils go bad usually due to a leak head gasket seal. Its not very simple to find after market parts for this automobile either. If its in good condition the you'll be satisfied.
Things to know is that the transmission can be faulty, ignition coils, cd changer, window regulators go bad and a couple other things.
A good place to look is LLSOC lincoln ls owners club, they’ve forums aboout commen problems regarding the lincoln ls and the solutions to the problems also.
Good luck and hope you enjoy your car if you buy one. I've enjoyed it so far but I've spent about $1,300 in fixes in the first 6 months of owning the vehicle. Just take automobile of it and it'll do just fine. Fun to drive.
And there’s no way to increase performance in a LS with an aftermarket chip best way to do it is with lowering intake and exhaust restriction.
Answer:
Lincolns aren't very reliable vehicles. If I where you check out some of the other Lincolns and other vehicles that have cylinder management system, when you aren't using the other cylinders, they shut off so you save gas. I would get the 2006 because it is the newest and even though it has the V6, you can always put a new intake or other performance parts to make it faster. I don't know much about Lincolns.
Answer:
Compared to the with the 6-cylinder LS, you are sacrificing 2 mpg in the city (15 vs. 17) and 1 mpg on the highway (23 vs.24).
With prudent selection of an aftermarket chip kit, low-restriction exhaust and cold-air intake, you certainly have the potential to shut that gap.

We’ve a 2005 LS with the V8 and parts for these cars are high. It has good power and gas mileage is pretty good also.

Don't listen to him Lincoln's are very awesome automobiles!!
An LS V-8 isn't that bad on gas it gets like 16-17MPG city and like 25MPG read the MSN.COM reviews
It's sporty and pretty fast, they make a decent sports vehicle
I have a 1988 Lincoln Town Vehicle Signature Series with a 5.0L V-8 I can gun it and get 0-60 MPH in less than 8 seconds stock!! I only lost one race with a 2006 Subaru WRX STI with like 350HP.
Plus my large engine is fuel efficient, I get 400 miles off of 1 tank and thats with me gunning it all of the time going at least 85 MPH and with the A/C blowing at full power.
And it only takes me $30 to fill up.
I love it and wouldn't give it up for anything. It's 20 years old with 96k miles and stronger than ever. Never had a problem with it and most Lincoln's are this way the LS as well it's a good sports automobile and screw gas prices my Lincoln is superior than a Honda
