the air ride is going bad but the motor still works would it be cheaper to get air ride fixed or switch to regular shocks
Answer:
I have a 1994 and the air bag leaks and makes noise, I guess it's the motor topping off the bag with air.
I believe I read that the bag wears against something and gets a hole in it. Good idea to go with shocks.
Rightnow is right on!
Better yet, get rid of it and buy a Toyota.
You will be dumping a lot of money into that car if you don't.
Nothing but trouble and money.
Read consumer reports, Lincolns are terrible!
Answer:
CHECK IT OUT FIRST IT MIGHT JUST BE A CRACK IN THE AIR LINE AND AS FOR THE SHOCKS, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS FOR A LINCOLN.
Answer:
verry very important,,go on the net for LINCOLN AIR RIDE CONVERSIONS,,all four wheels around $379 for ALL the parts. 3 to 5 hrs Labor any good mechanic can do. You'll never regret it. Save HUNDREDS.
Answer:
You don't need all four Lincoln Towncars only have air in the rear so when you go to check make sure its for a Towncar and not the Continental completely different setup. if you can't fix the air suspension yourself then its probably better to switch it over regardless of the price differences now because there is a ot of components to the system and something else later will go wrong so just call it good and replace it.
Answer:
I think if you will check closely you will find that you already have shocks on the rear.. the air bags only replace the rear springs.. if you do have the shocks on the back then all you will need do is to replace the bags with springs.. you can look for them online.. there is a strut and spring company in florida that do an excellent job and the price is right.. plus they send you a step by step guide to remove the old and install the new.. good luck Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
