Yes.But if you get the coil and fan at the back near the fuel tank, the ac will do wonders and your car won’t get heated up. Reason:The coil and radiator are right behind each other in the original way.
Answer:
There are several reasons for the engine to overheat. Assuming that the cooling system is OK and you install a new A/C system , the condenser of the A/C is mounted in front of the Radiator and the condenser itself gets quite hot. This in turn increases the air temperature to increase passing thru it and the radiator of the automobile gets hot air so the engine gets heated. Now since your car is more than 12 years Old you need to purchase a new radiator and also install a higher amperage engine / radiator fan . This is used in A/c vehicles and is more powerful . If still your vehicle heats up then the reason is that the engine is weak and compression is low and the engine is overloaded. This can only be rectified by re building the engine . People have recommended of installing the radiator behind the automobile which is good suggestion but then your alternator becomes over loaded as the electrical load increase . Your battery might drain and fail hence you will have to upgrade to a more powerful alternator of atleast 55amps capacity
