I'm looking into my AT 2004 Mazda 6 v6. I know the basics for modifying my vehicle like Headers or Axleback exausts, cold air intake, speed chip, uh…that's all i can really think of in terms of raw power.
I was reading up on Pulley's, flywheels, Clutches(which i dont need)Alternator pulley thing.
Just let me know how far i can really go to alter my car without a Turbo.
any help appreciated.
BTW it's absolutely stock and i think i need to clean the throttle body after 76 000km
Answer:
Forced induction (i.e. Turbocharging, Supercharging) is the only way to make a notable gain in Kw. The modifications you have listed are about the limits of what you can do to a NA (naturally aspirated) automobile, and the power gains will be minimal at best. Even if you wanted 2 go turbo, it would be quite a challenge with your automobile as it runs a rather high compression ratio, which means you would have to run an extremely low boost setting or have the engine rebuilt with low compression pistons. I'd also be surprised if the throttle body needs cleaning unless you've been giving it a hard time or the throttle has been grabbing or even sticking. Hope this helps
Answer:
there's not a lot you can do that is financially practical.
you'd be superior off trading it for a quicker automobile.
being a front wheel drive you have very limited space for bolt on mods and modding the engine internals is high-priced.
you'll have much more fun with a rear wheel drive not only with mods but driving enjoyment
changing pulleys won't do much for performance and flywheels and clutches only apply to cars with a manual trans.
Answer:
Add a aftermarket supercharger or pour the engine block, change to bigger pistons and purchase racing camshaft. Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
