I’ve a mismatched set of 195/55R15 tires on my 2000 Mazda Protege ES. Two are Goodyear and two are Kumho. My friend can get me 4 brand new Michelin tires for $35 each. They are 195/60R15 MXV4 Plus. Will the difference in size cause any problems?
Thanks.
Answer:
The difference will be minute. I would like to know where your friend can get a brand new Michelin tire for $35. I’ll be needing new tires also, and that “hot” price can't be beat by dealers.
Answer:
In an best situation, you want to replace the tires with the size specified in the owner's manual (probably 195/55R15), but:
The difference in aspect ratio of a 195/60 and a 195/55 tire is so small that it won't make much difference as long as all 4 tires are the same on the car.
Technically, your speedometer will read slightly slower than it did before (meaning you will be travelling slightly faster (in real life) at an indicated 55mph on the speedometer than you were on the 195/55s due to the slight difference in tire heights) and the automobile may corner slightly less sharply at the limit (but may ride a tiny softer) due to the slightly taller sidewalls of the 195/60 tires, but again, the difference in tire heights is so small you should be just fine.
Answer:
You can pretty much replace it without problem. you’ll probably see a small difference in the speedometer you will be going a little faster than indicated there, but not significant. the vehicle will rise about half an inch and your speedometer will show 65 mph when you’re going at 67 mph. (3%)
Answer:
please not that all the numbers exept for the rim size are only in 5 and 0
each 5 added to a tire size means 1/2 inch
195 is the wide it you add a 200 it means you will 1/2 wider tire while the high it works of the same way
is just about 1/2 more or less depend on the tire size you’re looking
