I was looking for a good dealer and prices for some improved suspension parts for my 2004 Mazda6. It has the 3.0 liter V6; I plan on adding a cold air intake and performance exhaust. I am not interested in lowering it more than 1 inch. The ride height is perfect for the area I live in. I was hoping to spend under $1500. any thoughts? Thank you all in advance! ![]()

Patrick,
I believe in always looking at Mazda performance parts, first. They’ve tested the performance range of related parts that are impacted by desired upgrade, therefore, whatever changes you decide are within spec. The Mazda cold air intake is made by AEM. Mazda parts are a brand, but the supplier is the aftermarket with the Mazda name on it. This way you can accurately back into a trouble free solution to driving your Mazda 6.
I know your budget is $1500.00 which is reasonable, resist the cheap way out with the parts. Stay with reputable suppliers who have a committed track record for the part. For instance, if a supplier does one thing and that is all they do, they can’t afford to build and sell a part that’ll not hold up to the stress and strain of racing. Magnaflow and Borla are good examples of earning a following over the years for automobile enthusiasts, relative to exhaust systems. You can pretty much know that you’ll be satisfied with the product when the supplier is OEM related.
The short answer is to look at what the Mazda dealership has to offer, then find out who makes it and take it from there. If you shop around now is a good time to make a buy. Cheers.
