The engine takes an excessive amount of time to heat up and i believe the problem is with the carby. Cheers!

Answer:
ummmm…..the engine heating up has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with your Carburetor , Dude.

if you are having problems with starting and running (idling) the motor at start-up from cold , an easy solution is to have some-one Knowledge-able inspect the Tuning of the vehicle , FIRST..!

don`t go out and spend your hard-earned on some-thing you don`t need to buy..!

in a normal circumstance , your best way of `heating` up the motor is to make the time to have 5 mins. , before you need you actually drive the vehicle off , to simply start it and let it idle for the 5 mins…..what this does is to get the heat into ALL of the Components (motor , gear-box , cooling system…etc. , etc..) so that you start off with "even Temp."

if the car won`t idle , at cold start , that is a good indicator of an over-due tune-up……..don`t forget that any car that is pre-1986 , does not run on the old Super Petrol any-more , as the Idiots in Government have excluded that Petroleum product from the World Market.

if you wish to pursue the purchase of a `new ` carbie and if your in Australia , get in contact with Mascot Motors in Sydney ….. what those guys can`t supply out -of-stock , they`ll either get it or tell you who to contact to get it…!

good luck and happy motoring !
