I did check the timing chain. Cam is still turning, so not the timing chain….something wrong with fuel pump or clog screen in the tank. How can I test the fuel pump?? is it hard to replace the fuel pump??
Answer:
There is a screw above the fuel filter that lets the air out when you change the filter, unscrew it and push the fuel pump primer to see if the fuel comes out of where that screw is. That is how you test the fuel pump.
if it still works, check the shutdown valve thing, after that it could be the injector pump, but thats not likely.
it could easily be water in the fuel or a clogged fuel pump. did you just start using biodiesel?
Answer:
fuel filter or pump. do you have gas in it??
Answer:
On mercedes you can jump time and the cam will still turn, you need to check the timing marks on the cam shaft and the engine crank shaft.
Answer:
Easier to add a $29. electric fuel pump after primary filter. You can get power from fuse box.
Answer:
The pump on that car is not that easy to change. Diesel pumps are not like on a gas car. They are run of the crank and the timing needs to be set. In my years I have not seen one do what you describe. Your best bet is to check the filters, keep in mind that car has a screen in the tank and if your bio is not clean enough it could plug it.
