new battery getting drained fast and old starter making humming noise.

Answer:
Humming is vac draining down.Starters can drain you batt. One fix I learned before you do anything else.Find some heavy wire long enough to attach to your battery ground, and engine block.Valve cover nut will work.It gives more power to starter, also raises charging too.

Ma Benz grounds to the chassis, over time the ground isn’t as good.

Answer:
i had a 1987 380e benz and i blew a piston not putting enough oil in it. it was making a lot of humming before that. go take it for a cheap check up. its worth it. otherwise you might loose you baby like me. and check your oil often. those cars go through oil almost as bad as the gas

Answer:
The starter is staying engaged and killing the battery. It has to go. Make sure all the wiring is still good when you have it replaced. It probably needs to be replaced too. 3 cables. Good luck.

Answer:

Answer:
