Ok, I just bought a 1996 Mercury sable and it has a keyless entry on the driver side door. I am not sure of the code and when I went to Ford they are asking $60 of which I don't have. is the code listed somewhere on the car and if it is, where can I find it?
Answer:
Get a flashlight and small mirror (compact or "dental"
Move drivers's seat all the way back and recline it
Stand on your head under steering wheel
Beginnng at accelerator pedal linkage look toward where steering wheel shaft goes to firewall
Between accelerator linkage and steering shaft is a metal and plastic box attached to wiring harness. Put mirror behind the (accelerator side if I remember right) and shine light on it. (if you wear bifocals even more fun)
You should see a five digit code.
found this on a website.. try it!
Answer:
I agree forsure there has to be a code that they use to co-ordinate the cars assembly process. Plus manufactures always use a numbering and letterring system.
Answer:
it is not in the car , I believe the only a dealer can get the number , Or Maybe a Locksmith could get it Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
