Remember 205 is your width in millimeters, the 60 or 65 is the % of the sidewall height. 205 x .60= 123mm… 205 x .65 = 133.25mm… In turn the sidewall on the 65 series is going to make the tire be 20mm taller than the 60 series. Yes it is enough to throw your speedo off some…
Answer:
Its not a good idea. There is over a 3% difference is the 2 sizes. 3% is the max you should go to be sure your speedometer is correct. Also Drastic change in tire size can hurt the vehicles performance such as braking.
Answer:
listen there is very little between the two sizes not all size tire are the same that size 205 60 and the 205 65 if its the same brand the it might be a half inch wider is nothing to worry over….. try taking a look a few size tires of the same size but differant brands and you will see they are not all the size size some will be taller and some will be wider and they will be all the same size….. some are a flat tread some will have a more rounder tread……..any car you can raise the size by one without messing with the car.. you can go wider by one number like what you are talking about the same no problems……. you should match the size of tire yes you would not want a 215 65 15 on one wheel and not any other now that would cause problems in the drive line and in how it drives down the street…. dont worry a 65 will be fine…ive been a tire tech for over 25 yrs and still im…
Answer:
yes you can use the tire size, the only diff. is the tires that are inst. are a bit wider profile than the ones you want to put on
Answer:
Yes you can It won't hurt a thing just don't go to wide or any taller that might cause a rubbing when you turn hope this helps.
Answer:
It probably will not rub - but you need to change ALL four at the same time. You should not put one 205/65R15 on with three 205/60R15 (or visa versa).
As noted, it will put your speedometer and odometer off.
