read mercury sable engine personal and PO430 came back. catalytic below threshold. What’s the downside if I dont replace the catalytic converter or oxygen sensor right away?
Answer:
PO430 is the converter on the right bank. If replacement is not done right away gas mileage will be affected. mid to long term effects could cause a meltdown inside the converter and restrict exhaust flow causing drivability issues even prevent the automobile from running.

The only thing you’ll burn more fuel.
