my battery light stays on and when the revs go up the light gets brighter. can anyone help please.

If it started instantly it could just be the plug in the back of the alternator has come out, or if it has gradually come on it is your alternator. You can get a good one from a breakers yard or a reconditioned one. I think your ideal bet is to try ebay. Good luck
