I own a Vectra B 2.0 Tdi (X20DTH) engine. The oil is contaminating with the water and also water is getting in the oil. But the car seams to run fine other than on start up the engine runs very lumpy then. But after a few mins it runs normal. Is this a problem with the head gasket as it only gives out gray smoke if you floor it or begin it from cold.

Many Thanks

Answer:
Hi, had a similar problem on an old Cavalier 1.7td and it turned out to be a leak in the Intercooler, which (on that engine anyway) sits at the base of the oil filter, letting the engine oil (at 40-50psi pressure) into the cooling system (at 12-15psi pressure)

Might be worth getting this checked out first, without the aggravation of dismantling the head.

Hope this helps!

Answer:
Serious problem… It will blow up eventually if you keep running it like that.

Answer:
this is likely to be your oiler cooler this engine does not suffer from head gasket problems

hope this helps
