Came across this classic vehicle, with a rather strange hood ornament, not know to me or my colleagues… any suggestions of where to look to find out?

Got pictures of the car and the ornament if that helps….

Answer:
Definitely a Ford Pilot I remember them from the 50's & 60's. They had a 3.62 litre 90 hp side valve v8 capable of 80mph. Google Ford Pilot v8 & have a look on Wikipedia like I just did -gives a good history.

Answer:
… 30 years ago, Rene' Lalique did all the Hood Ornaments of all the Grand Marques, in Crystal … There were several Books put together on them all, and in each one there are photographs of the Cars themselves, the actual Metal Hood Ornaments, and the Crystal Reproductions … Perhaps you can find what you are looking for in one of them … Or Google up Lalique Crystal Hood Ornaments and see what you get …

Answer:

Answer:
