I would like some thoughts on the 2001 Kia Optima. I am looking at getting one and wanted to know some "first hand" pros and cons! Anything will help! Thanks ![]()
Answer:
I have a 2004 Kia Optima EX V6 (basically the same as the SE) and have had no problems so far, I have over 71,000 miles and it runs smooth and strong. I did invest in a K&N air filter and had the door lock receiver fixed under warranty. I have replaced a few buld and the driver's sidemarker. It has been a wonderful car and I love the look of the car, it looks classier than most of the cars on the road today, just my opinion. I have the auto with manual shift and it works pretty good in the mountains. It won't ruin your transmission if you don't shift at the right moment, it'll let you rev fairly high and switch automatically when the transmission is on the verge of destroying itself. Apparently the system was designed by Porsche and licensed to Kia. Great car and would buy another any day and recommend to friends and family.
