Front wheel drive

The weight of the engine is over the drive tires and this gives a lot more traction.

A word of caution. Front wheel drive and all wheel drive can give a false sense of security on slippery roads. This can make it real easy to drive too fast for road conditions. Always remember that front wheel drive and all wheel drive stop no superior than any other automobile on ice. And on slippery roads, anti-lock brakes anre not always much help.
