South Africa vehicle industry ?

Does Sth Africa have its own vehicle manufacturers, if so what kind of automobiles ? I watched an old movie based in S.A. and all the automobiles were old Fords or Holdens from Australia.

Toyota is in South Africa, as well as Nissan, Renault and Volkswagen. VW used to have specific models (small pickups) for the South African market.

There are also some companies specialising in the military cars market, they manufacture army trucks and armoured vehicles.

The one i drove was a South African kit car used mainly for racing.
