Just wondering what all the different abbreviations mean.. like the Bonneville SSE.. or SSEI… Honda Civic Si… Anyone know what they stand for.. or where I can find a list of them.

Thanks

Answer:
They are trim levels.

Honda Civic Si=Sequential Injection. The Si is the sport version of the Honda Civic with a 200HP 4 cylinder engine.

SE means special edition.

DX, LX, EX, ES, LE, XLE, EX-L-These are all trim levels that come with differen options and engine choices.

For example, DX means you have the cheapest version of the vehicle. No power windows or locks. No alarm, power seats, leather, cd player, or sunroof.

Answer:
Just so you know C7S, SI stands for Sports Injected, not sequential Injection.

I'm going to use the Honda Civic for example but it basically applies to the Honda line and some other manufacturers.

Honda Civic DX (Deluxe)- Bare bones. In the past, DX Civics had A/C as an option. Currently, A/C standard, no power windows or door locks, no sunroof, No CD player. No extra luxuries besides a base vehicle.

DX model Civics are distinguishable by the black side view mirrors and door handles.

Honda Civic LX (Luxury) - Gets just about everything the EX model does EXCEPT for a sunroof and maybe an upgraded sound system.

LX models get body colored door handles and keep black side view mirrors.

Honda Civic EX (Excellent) - Top of the line model as far as luxury goes. Possible DVD player, navigation system, upgraded sound system are all options that weren't available for the other models.

Honda Civic SI (Sports Injected) - Top of the line Civic, period. High performance engine and suspension, wheels, upgraded sound system, navigation, everything the EX offers is also offered on the SI.
