The brake pedal on my peugeot 106 seems to have extra length on it….you can push the pedal half way down before the brakes have any affect…is this normal for the vehicle make? it was recently serviced before i purchased it and nothing was found to be wrong with it.

its more prone to be your rear shoes…especially if the handbrake leaver is quite high…or your brakes require bleeding….

That seems to be excessive travel! I would think you have a low fluid-level, or you could have air in the system. Bleed the brakes immediately, as if you start using them, you’ll aerate the fluid and have NO BRAKES!
