No cold air at all.
The a/c control light on the dash would light up when pressed, but the compressor didn’t engage. Checked a fuse…it looked fine, replaced it with a new one anyway. Now the a/c control light on dash does not light up when pressed. Does this help narrow down possible problems with the a/c? Thanks for any thoughts or help!!
Answer:
Try recharging the vehicle with some freon you can get a kit for about 30 bucks at auto zone or any auto parts store.
Ahhhhh cant you feel the cold air
Answer:
When the a/c compressor isn’t engaging, the possible causes are numerous. Low refrigerant, open high pressure cut-off switch, wiring problem, bad relay, defective control head, open/weak compressor clutch coil, etc… The problem I have found the most on these automobiles is a leaking a/c compressor; either from the compressor housing or the front shaft seal. If the housing is leaking, depending on the severity of the leak, it will have to be replaced. The front shaft seal is serviceable separately from the compressor and is much less expensive. Either way, the vehicle needs to be checked by a professional technician for proper diagnosis. May the repair be affordable. Good luck.
Answer:
When the comp. does not engage that is a sign of low refrigerant level in system. Needs to be recharged and checked for leak.
Answer:
1st thing I would check is if the system has coolent (freon) If it's low the compressor will not come on. This is a safty feature so it won't burn out.
