They really are junk. I worked at a pontiac dealer for 5 years and that automobile by far had the most problems of any line of automobiles. Lower Intake leaks, Air conditioning leaks, wheel bearings, body control modules, the brakes sound like a school bus, and a bunch of other stuff too.

They could become cult vehicles, like cars that are so bad they're good. Past cult cars are the Ford Pinto, Edsel, AMC Pacer, AMC Gremlin, and so on. Now when people see these older vehicles on the road, still running, they smile and point because it's so rare to see one that can still move.
In the case of the Aztek, it's not a bad vehicle mechanically, it's just so hideously hideous. If you can find one of the early ones that came in a disgusting snot-green color, that's a keeper. It will be really rare in about 15 years or so, and anything rare will have some value.
