me to do; clean, use another key. Besides going to the dealer, is there something else I have the ability to do to fix or disable it?

Thanks

Answer:
I had this problem with lights going on saying “security” in my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. It turned out that the ignition key has a chip in it. My chip in the ignition key was so worn out that literally the ignition wouldn’t let me begin the car most of the time. I had to go to a Pontiac dealer repair place, they’d to make an exact duplicate of my car's ignition key, and had no problems with security ever since.

Answer:
if the vehicle starts every time then dont worry about it it just means the security is not working i have a 1996 oldsmobile 88 my light been on for 2 years it just means your car is easier to steal a 14 year old pontiac is not high on a theifs list
