I am told that the “takeover” is little more than a paper exercises. The motive being that Porsche need to lower their carbon footprint as demanded by EU law. They’re not in a position to do so by developing a small car, so they are “buying” into VW who have many small vehicles. BMW developed the ” Mini” and Mercedes have the “Smart” vehicle within the umbrella of the company which effectively reduces the so important carbon FP. Is this likely to be true ?

Answer:
No, they've always helped one another and a few years ago they became shareholders of one another.. That way production secrets stay that way and they can help produce automobiles.. Like the tourag and the cayenne have the same chassis..audi got there idea from porsche..because after the second world war porsche used a lot of vW parts in there cars as they were available and the british had hold of the germans tightly for a few years..they would rather share the technology with one another rather than let Bmw purchase shares and steal technology and then dump the brand as they did with land rover and range rover. . Bmw couldn't build a decent 4×4 until they did that! Oh, and it was hitler and porsche that created the beetle together! Also, on Bmw's- the kidney grill was done as a joke by germans originally to resemble hitlers little moustache! Bmw always lie and state it was lu a practical feature for the automobile! Lol!

Answer:
Nope.

Porsche has always been part of VW since the beginning since Ferdinand Porsche started both VW and Porsche and designed the original VW Beetle.

Porsche is just buying more of VW so they have the ability to make more profits.

VW owns Lamborghini and Bently and Audi and Bugatti. Ths companies all make automobiles that compete against Porsche.

With Porsche owning VW, they can control if a new sports automobile can me made or not to compete against Porsche's. They’re trying to increase sales and make more money.

Answer:
Porsche are already part of the VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group), and have been for decades.
