is there any brand of engine ex. AMG or saleen engines….any brand that can be replaced with the stock 2008 boxster S engine…an engine that will completely blow away the stock engine with a ton more hp?
Answer:
You’ll need a Boxer engine. A Boxer engine is a horizontally opposed engine, or FLAT.
It is not a V or Inline(Straight) engine. like V6 or Inline-4.
You would need another Boxer engine. The largest engine that can fit is the 3.8L Porsche 911 Carrera S engine with around 380HP.
Most people swap the engine with the base 3.6L Porsche 911 Carrera making around 320HP.
Of coarse, there are Porsche tuning companies that do this contersion and tune the engine even more to make 500HP using an upgraded ECU, exhaust, headers, and Intake.
Companies like RUF, Sportec, Impola, Techart, and others.
