Renault clio non start?

Author: admin

My girlfriend's renault clio was involved in an accident which deployed the driver's airbag, we took the car to a renault dealer and they said she as to fix the airbag before the car can start, is this possible?

Answer:
It may have a ignition cut off wired into the airbag

Answer:
The airbag has been fitted as a safety feature, so when it deploys in an accident it cuts off the fuel to the engine which is also a safety feature. The airbag has to be refitted in order to ensure that the fuel is delivered to the engine again. I think this has to be reset by a dealer though.

Answer:
knowing what cars are like today i think it is likly.

Answer:
Eeek not gonna be a cheap job that matey as the airbags are dear for Renault. It is possible

Answer:
The car should still start even with the airbag deployed. Try looking under the bonnet for the impact switch. It is usally a red rubber button next the battery.
