The handbrake warning light keeps coming on in my 97 clio, Ive got enought fluid… ive read that it could be the brake pads… Is this the case?? It comes on randomly and flickers on and off as it chooses, mostly uphill, but can be on the flat… its as if the handbrake is left on but its not. Like i state the light come on randomly and can go trips without coming on at all, but its becoming more frequent now… HELP!!

Answer:
best bet is get your brakes checked or replaced!

if the warning light keeps coming on its a sure sign that something isnt 100% with them

Answer:
Hi

it could be a couple of things.

most usual cause is low brake fluid, i know you state you've got enough but have the pads been changed recently?

the brake fluid should be changed each couple of years as it gradually loses its effectiveness. you might have a small leak or air in the system (not good).

or it might be a faulty fuse or switch.

does the automobile brake normally? hand brake hold ok?

i'd get it too a garage and get it looked over, better too take a hit in the wallet than having an accident

ideal of luck
